JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Coast Guard Sector rescued two disabled mariners early Wednesday morning.

The two people aboard the sailing vessel Vicarious were towed back to Morning Star Marina, said Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony Soto.

The two mariners were about 10 miles east of the St. Johns River entrance, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard reports the two mariners told officials they were not able to set the vessel's sails due to exhaustion stemming from their four-day transit.

The Vicarious was scheduled to be towed by a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium, but was unable to due to weather conditions Tuesday afternoon, according to the Coast Guard.
