Coast Guard rescues three local boaters

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Coast Guard rescued three boaters after their boat ran aground near Nassau Sound.

It happened late Tuesday.  Stanley Thompson, 45, Charles Powell, 63, and Justo Emmuelo, 45, were taken to safety by Coast Guard crews.

The Coast Guard first got the call for help at 6:50 p.m.  The boat, Atlantic Breeze, was taking on water after it ran aground.

Crew members were able to rescue the three stranded boaters and take them to Coast Guard Station Mayport.

No injuries were reported and all three boaters had life jackets.
