Coast Guard rescues two after fishing boat runs aground
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two fishermen after their boat ran aground Saturday night near the mouth of the St. Johns River.
Rescuers say they were notified of the incident from a "Mayday" call that came from the crew abroad the 73-foot "Carolina Girl 3."
Coast Guardsmen found the boat taking on water near the jetties around midnight, a press release states.
The Coast Guard reports they brought the two stranded fishermen back to shore, after an attempt to remove water from the vessel.
No injuries were reported in the rescue.
It will be up to the owners of the boat to get the vessel back to shore.
