Down native! Geez. All meds. Massage? Apullin is obviously trying to get your fur up. .... I agree on the gate-kickin' thing. Kick the gate, need your toes bit off.

There you go...if this dog is taunted all the time by idiots kicking the gate, it will always come running more aggressively. To remove or cut a dogs vocal cords is just as inhumane and cruel as you can get..abuse in my book...GOD gave them that bark and the fact that dogs 'save' more peoples life's by barking proves it. This is a sad accident and I Pray she gets a full recovery quick.

i live near this area, and let me tell you i know the dog is there, and he/she is enclosed behind a 12 foot fence, you walk by and look before you make unknowing comments. that dog barks at anyone kicking the gate, i just saying,i have never seen that dog out of any gate there or anywhere else around there.

Apullin has to be pulling the readers leg, hard to believe it could actually be a well thought out and reasonable response.

That's the dumbest most ignorant crap I've heard in a long time, someone should 'debark' you apullin. Blame a dog that was doing its job...protecting his 'boundaries'. That's why most people get a dog to protect their property..Some are even trained by professionals to do so. This not the dog fault, not the drivers. She knew the street was there, I would have just let the dog bite me before I jumped into oncoming traffic. I bet you tortured little animals when you were a kid, I can't imagine why you are a dog hater, but who cares as long as you never own one, because you are obviously ignorant about the species.

This is why there should be a requirement that all dogs in urban environments must be de-barked. It's just another form of harassment and noise pollution, with a potential deleterious effects that people ignore far too much. If you were walking down the street, and I jumped at you and screamed at you, causing a similar accident situation as in this case, I would be hugely liable for the damage. In a situation like this, I can only hope that the dog is destroyed (since it is overly aggressive and improperly trained by the owner), and that the owner is litigated against until their house is sold and auction and the kids college funds are emptied out. People shouldn't own dangerous things would understand the dangers involved in that ownership.

She needs to pay for the repairs to the car.

The driver shouldn't be charged whether the dog was fenced or not. The student was injured due to her reactions not due to the drivers actions. If the dog was fenced, no one should be charged, if not the dog owner could be.

N4J reported it was inside a fence.

Was the dog loose? If so, then the owner should be charged, not the driver. Hope she's ok.
