BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- The hunt continues for two boys that police say may be responsible for shooting a 13-month-old.
After hours of searching the south Brunswick neighborhood, Mayor Bryan Thompson says police are exhausted, but not giving up.
"We know we're going to catch the two suspects. It's just a matter of time."
Police say those suspects are between the ages of 10 and 15 years old. They're accused of killing the baby boy and shooting his mother as they strolled down a quiet street Thursday morning.
The mother lived to tell police who she thinks is responsible, and now eight state, county and local law enforcement agencies are out in full force.
PICTURES: Baby Killed, Mother ShotMayor Thompson says there is no need for neighbors to be frightened, but they should be alert. He believes those responsible will soon tell someone something.
"The community is acting as our eyes and ears. They will hear things and will pick up information and they have to call that information in."
If they don't, Thompson says they're just as responsible as the killer.
"If they have information and they are keeping that information to themselves, they are complicit in that murder also. They have their finger on that trigger just like the shooter had his finger on that trigger."
Police say they will have increased patrols in the neighborhood overnight and will resume their hunt early Friday morning.
