I don't believe its fair that some neighborhoods get trees looked at and taken care of at the expense of the city, whereas the rest of us are left to foot the large bill on our own. What dictates what is a citizen problem versus a city problem? It's not fair to those of us who do not have power lines within our neighborhoods because then no one helps us. I saw this story on the news and thought that like most others presented it was useless.

The neighbors on Seabrook Cove Road got their chain saws and cut up one of the giant trees so JEA would repair the lines. JEA kept driving down the street, looking at the problem, and then immediately turning their vehicles around. THE NEIGHBORS TOOK ONE OF THE TREES OFF THE LINES FOR JEA AND THE CITY. A city debris truck drove in and immediately out of the neighborhood the same day. The neighbors were NOT lazy; simply exhausted!!!!! The tree in the soldier's yard broke and fell on Tuesday when all of the neighbors were trying to return to work, leaving their homes unguarded with windows open so the temperature inside would not be like ovens. We pay our taxes like everyone else in the City. Don't you think we deserve some service? Or is it just all of the folks in the HUD apartments who deserve that? Those complexes have the larger numbers so if their lights go out, JEA responds to them FIRST. We have 36 homes in our neighborhood so we're always last when the lights go out. Is that FAIR? How dare you make such a comment below? You have no idea what happened in our neighborhood, do you? Our neighbors actually care about each other and work together. This is exactly what happened when several years ago when several storms came through the area. I was not going to wait for a week for JEA to respond. THANK YOU, ACTION NEWS! My last call to JEA was to inform them that I was going to contact the media. That's when and ONLY then did we actually see work crews arriving to do something. Pam Coker

This is only news worthy that the neighbors didnt get thier hands dirty to help and instead want the city to pretty up the block.
