Lessons learned: Doors in schools should be reinforced to stop bullets and shotgun blasts making it harder for nut cases in hall ways to enter inside the schools. If they come around the outside the kids unlock the door and hide in the hallway or a class room that does not have windows possibly. Hold drills to practice this. While regretable that this is required it's better than hiding one's head in the sand and pretending destroying the people's rights to keep and bear arms will stop evil behavior. Second in schools we need armed security personnel. Some might say they don't want this but tolerate being stripped search at airports to stop terrorists. Having a security gaurd that is willing to protect children is a noble profession and surly if we can afford strip searches in air ports we can afford this protection for our nation's greatest resources, our children. Additionally We should stop funding guns for top politicans that do not belive in them period. Lead by example get rid of your bodyguards with guns. We all know this will not happen have only to look at the Congress woman shot in the head to see how well that works. Guns are not the problem it our culture where people treat other people like dirt, denying them basic human compassion and even justice in many cases. As for the Attorney General he is right there is not much outside of having a swat team waiting for this young man that could stopped the carnage. When a person is determined to do evil for whatever their reasons taking guns from honest citizens wil not prevent that ever. Read your Constitution, our Declaration of Independence and read the biographies and court decisions shortly after the 2nd amendment was created. You would be shocked by what insight our founding fathers had about this country in the future.
