Are they crazy?? Ive got a 10year old in the 5th grade... i asked... "so, how many times does your teacher leave the kids in the class unattended?" and she quickly replied "all the time". My child would be home schooled if they decide to put guns in the classrooms. all they need is that mentally unstable or pissed off kid to wait for the teacher to leave and unload the clip on the class. please think about this before you put our children in more danger

If this happens, I hope the training requirements are stricter than this state requires for concealed carry permits. I am all for being armed, but it is way too easy to get a permit in this state. There are no proficiency requirements. Fire one bullet into a barrel of sand and you have met this states experience requirement. As a lifelong firearms owner and long time permit carrier, I want the people that carry guns to know what they are doing - especially in a school environment.

A couple of gun toting teachers, a few signs at the entrances stating "armed teachers on site" would be a lot better deterrant than nothing at all, much cheaper than armed guards. Everytime we have had a mass shooting spree the lunatic shoots himself as soon as someone with a gun shows up, maybe they would find an easier target like someplace with a sign on the door "NO GUNS ALLOWED".

I read an article where this town placed an armed police officer in their school without paying one red cent extra out of pocket etc.. They simply put him up with his own desk with wyfi and he works out of the school, and patrols the school as the same time...ingenious
