Convicted felon could get life for murder and attempted murder
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A convicted felon now faces life behind bars after being found guilty of a 2011 murder.
Marcus Jackson, 23, was convicted Friday in the shooting death of a 19-year-old. Investigators say he got into a fight with Terrell Holsey in November. Jackson later confronted Holsey and another man in the street about the previous encounter. During that incident, police say Jackson pulled out a gun and fired 10 shots. Holsey was killed when a single bullet hit his head.
Jackson ran off and was later seen in a stolen vehicle. Police found it and traced items inside, including a cellphone, back to the suspect.
The 23-year-old now faces life in prison. Jackson was previously convicted of cocaine possession. He is set to be sentenced the week of June 24.
