JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in a 2009 shooting.
Dontay Lester, 29, was sentenced to life in prison Thursday. He was convicted last month on charges of attempted murder in the first degree, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
In July 2009, Lester met John Albritton at Club Cash on University Boulevard. They decided to leave the club and buy cigars. As they were driving back to Club Cash, Lester pulled out a gun and robbed Albritton. Lester then shot Albritton three times in the chest and once in the arm.
Lester also has convictions for fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and carjacking.
