JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man with five felony convictions is going to federal prison on weapons-related charges.

Maurice Futch, 32, of Middleburg, pleaded guilty to possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration and deputies with the Clay County Sheriff's Office found more than 50 rounds of ammunition, a drug scale and paraphernalia during a search warrant of his home in July 2012.  Investigators also found a photo of Futch shooting a weapon at a gun range where he was a member.

Other than another lame attempt by the media to pander to the anti-gun crowd, of what significances is this man's gun range membership? Did this membership cause him to committ his crimes or did the membership aid and abet him in some manner?
