JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Morning rain gave way to afternoon sunshine on Tuesday, but more changes are in store.

At noon, a cold front was moving into Southeast Georgia. Meanwhile temperatures were soaring across the First Coast of Florida.

The cold front will continue to steadily move southward across Northeast Florida this afternoon and tonight.

Rain showers will gradually develop along the front. The rain will continue on Wednesday in the cooler air.

Drier air moves in on Thursday. However, it will stay chilly despite the sunshine.

The clouds build back into the picture Friday and stay with us through the weekend. Expect rain to prevail on Saturday and Sunday...some of it locally heavy.
