MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- Two Marion County corrections officers accused of beating an inmate in September 2013 were found not guilty Friday.

Investigators claimed Richard Smith, 51, and  Dustin Lay, 32, hit inmate Donald Kizzart numerous times with their fists.

Both men were suspended without pay at the time, due to the findings of a Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigation

No word if Smith or Lay will be  reinstated.
