JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A couple is displaced by a fire Sunday night when flames erupted at their mobile home on the Westside.

According to the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, it happened at 9:45 p.m. on the 3700 block of Jones Road.

The neighborhood does not have fire hydrants so JFRD had to call in tankers to put out the flames. Two tankers responded but only one was used.

The JFRD said it took firefighters about 15 minutes to put out the flames.

Chief Jason Tidwell believes the fire may have started in the AC heater unit. Tidwell said the flames spread through the vents to both sides of the home. The home is not considered a total loss, but firefighters did have to tear through sheet rock to put out the flames.

The couple made it out safely and spent the night at a relative's house.
