ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies not only arrested a man and a woman on meth-related charges in St. Johns County, but had to decontaminate a 2-year-old child in the process.
Authorities responded to a call about a strange smell coming from a home on Gorda Bella Avenue Tuesday night. The smell became stronger when a woman opened the door to deputies.
Deputies arrested Randall Jay Mashburn, 37, and Regina Rose Dimsdale, 24. They appeared in court Wednesday morning.
The suspects face charges of methamphetamine production, possession, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect.
A child found living in the home is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
Investigators arrested five additional suspects.
They're identified as Jason Elliot Dimsdale, 32; Felicia Ann Lander; 26; Mark Lee Raney, 46; Kelly Swinehart, 37; and Charles Touchton, 43.
