The thing about this mess is that Turner Construction has the contract to renovate the stadium. Should be interesting to see how they over run on the costs and provide an inferior product.

"While many deem the building a money pit, the council president says they're stuck with it and the bills that come along with it." - While Delaney sits smugly across town in his reward position...

Save money, get rid of the judges personal trainers and do not replace the judges desk's which some cost several thousand, why should we be surprised? Screwed by the government again!

Regardless of what the court house replaces, it didn't need to be so elaborate and ornate. It looks more like a temple of the gods than it does a place of business. It actually gives the populace a pretty good idea of what Duval County's judges think of themselves. I am sure that adequate facilities could have been built at a much more reasonable cost to the taxpayers.

Unless you factor in the cost for all facilities used previously by offices now housed in the New courthouse, The numbers you cite are meaningless, The traffic, drug, and other court functions were moved from The Southgate shopping center on Beach plus the courts were using space in the Old City Hall Annex. The $350 million price tag also covers renovating the old federal post office building for the state attorney's office.
