Crash forces temporary closures of northbound lanes of I-95
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash with injuries on Interstate 95 that caused the northbound lanes to be closed north of State Road 16 while rescue crews responded.
A spokesman with St. Johns County Fire Rescue says rescue crews arrived on the scene between mile markers 319 and 320 at 3:50 p.m.
The spokesman says crews had to cut the vehicle to rescue two victims from the single vehicle crash. He says three patients were taken to area hospitals in total.
Two of the injured passengers were taken to Baptist South in stable condition. The third person in the SUV was flown by helicopter to the trauma center at Orange Park Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
The F.H.P. will release more details about the rollover crash pending their investigation.
