JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have identified the victim of a car crash that shut down part of Greenland Road early Monday Morning.

The woman killed in the crash has been identified as Shai Kuruvilla, 33, of Switzerland, Florida.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a Nissan Minivan was speeding down Greenland Road with two adults inside.

Witnesses at the scene told police the van suddenly veered into oncoming traffic. The van continued off the side of the road, hit a mailbox, and then crashed into two trees in the parking lot of the Hindu Society of Northease Florida.

A man in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The preliminary investigation indicates Kuruvilla was driving.
