JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- RV City is officially open for business and the party is already under way.
It's known as the world's biggest cocktail party. Most bring their own drinks to RV City. One group of friends brought their own bar on wheels.
"Couple people know us around here!" joked owner Ed Branch.
It used to be an old boat trailer. They converted it using old gym bleachers and metal from inside Georgia schools. And in the peak of the party, the place is packed -- so much so they made reserve seating.
"There's supposed to be," explained Terry Dees. "When we originally built this the first year we couldn't even get a seat at the bar so many people crowded up. So the next year we put our names on the seats."
Another fan may not have a name on his stool, but Dees and Branch say they can definitely make room for his *motorized* bar stool.
"We love it, it gets a lot of attention," said Chris Chaney of his contraption. "We just put our heads together and we built."
Who isn't welcome to pull up a seat though are people under 21. Cops will be cracking down this year...and writing citations, not warnings, to anyone they catch.
Bottom line, the goal is to have a fun time but be safe doing it. Shouldn't be a problem for these pros.
"It's sometimes a good game sometimes it's not. It's always a good time," Branch said.
Keep in mind you can ride around RV City with open containers but NOT on Friday night. Jso says it will be way too crowded and rowdy to let anyone drive through there.
And JSO has a few key tips to staying safe down there. Stay in a group, don't wander away from the populated areas and have a designated driver.
