JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Crews from the Florida Forest Service and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue are currently battling a brush fire along San Pablo Road between Beach and Butler Blvd, according to JFRD.

JFRD tells Action News homes are not threatened by the flames and the fire is contained.

Action News received several phone calls, from viewers, about smoke in the area.

Our reporter, on the scene, tells us that travel between several apartment complexes off of San Pablo Road is being restricted as first responders put a containment line around the fire. The fire danger index is very high for areas of Northeast Florida, according to the Florida Forest Service.

They warn that fires can start easily from all causes and immediately, after ignition, spread rapidly and increase quickly in intensity. Yard waste burning is not recommended.
