Crews extinguish fire at Hydro Aluminum Plant
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Crews are cleaning up after a massive fire at the St. Augustine Hydro Aluminum Plant. It happened just before 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue says they arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the building. They say they were able to quickly put out the fire. All employees were evacuated safely.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue tells Action news they believe the fire started in the re-melt building after molten aluminum spilled from a piece of equipment.
