Crews working to save the life of a beached whale at local beach

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is working to save the life of a beached sperm whale at Anastasia State Park Beach.

A calf and her mother washed ashore early Sunday evening.

Crews were unable to save the mother.

Action News has calls into several agencies to get an update on the condition of the calf.
