Crowds wait for hours to get new iPhone
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The earliest Apple addicts lined up starting at 11 p.m. Thursday night to get their hands on the iPhone 5(s) and 5(c).
Hundreds waited at the St. Johns Town Center for the opportunity to get a silver or space gray phone. The newest updates always bring anticipation, and this release was no different.
Customers called themselves "addicts" and "obsessed" -- some reported being tired but excited while others say they weren't fazed.
Apple has a limited supply of the new phones, but employees wouldn't release the exact number.
The obsession has turned into somewhat of a rivalry between Apple users and Droid users, with some fiercely clinging to their loyalties.
Apple employees were at the store as early as 4 a.m. and cheered the crowd minutes before the doors opened, trying to drum up customer support -- not that anyone needed extra motivation to buy support.
