JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- DCF officials say they're considering firing a worker who's accused of abusing her power by yanking her ex-boyfriend's child out of a local classroom.

Carla Mixon came to Action News this week looking for help. Her husband's ex-girlfriend, a DCF worker, is accused of flashing her DCF badge to get Mixon's son out of class.

We asked the Duval County school district for its policy. It clearly states, police, court officials, and DCF representatives can get kids out of class, as long as their identity is clearly established.

According to the Duval Schools police report, Mixon's son is not part of a DCF investigation. DCF originally told us they were looking at the issue. The employee, Carol Cromer, was moved to an administrative position. The next day, after our story aired, DCF told us Cromer could receive a letter in a matter of days that the agency was considering dismissing her.

It wouldn't be the first time she's been in trouble. Employment records from DCF show she was suspended in 2012 for two days for not alerting her supervisor about reported abuse called in to the DCF hotline.

Wednesday, Mixon said she just wants to make sure this doesn't happen again. "She crossed the line. You don't mess with my children," said Mixon.

Cromer can appeal the process. If she does get that dismissal letter, she has 10 days to schedule a meeting with her superiors.

She shouldn't be charged with attempted kidnapping BECAUSE SHE WASNT ATTEMPTING TO KIDNAP THE CHILD! They stayed on school premises. Please read carefully and think logically before posting.

Why would she not be charged with atttempted kidnapping? She has no legal rights to the child and abused her position and credentials.
