JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The City of Jacksonville is getting international attention for hosting the U.S. Tennis Team as it takes on Brazil in next year's Davis Cup.

The United States Tennis Association was in town Tuesday to announce the River City has won hosting duties for the first match up of the 2013 Davis Cup.

U.S. and Brazil will face off in a best-of-five series for the right to advance to the second round and face the winner of the Serbia-Belgium match.

The international event will draw hundreds to Jacksonville from all over the world. The event takes place February 1-3, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Downtown Jacksonville. This will be the first major tennis event held in the Arena since it opened in 2004. The site selection is subject to final approval by the International Tennis Federation.

The Davis Cup is the world’s largest annual international men’s team competition with 122 nations competing this year.
