JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- By the looks of the baggage drop lines at JIA, you'd think nothing was amiss. However, the boards tell a different story.
More than a dozen flights have been delayed in major airports like Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. and there are more to come.
"Our flight is OK going to Atlanta but we haven't heard from Atlanta to Buffalo. We anticipate a delay," said flyer, Sally Molly.
Michael Stewart with JIA told Action News it's been coming in waves and with wild weather sweeping the eastern side of the U.S., he says travelers will feel the impact.
"Sometimes we get a longer delay if a flight from here going to an airport that has a lot of weather challenges," said Stewart.
The TSA is suggesting travelers arrive at least two hours early for a domestic flight and three hours for those traveling overseas.
"We're going up to Chicago and then Chicago to LA and LA back to Sydney," said flier Duncan Beh.
He said his connecting flight could be the reason why he sleeps at the airport.
"Half an hour won't be too bad but anything more than that we'll be panicking," said Beh.
A person's phone is a helpful tool on a day like Wednesday. The Flight Tracker app gives up-to-date information on the status of a trip. Major airlines are also waiving change fees for passengers who would rather fly Thursday.
