JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Delta Air Lines is scheduled to begin non-stop flights between Jacksonville and Boston in March, 2014.

Delta officials say the daily flight will depart Boston about 7 a.m. and arrive in Jacksonville at around 10:05 a.m. The return flight will  leave Jacksonville at 5:35 p.m. and arrive at Boston's Logan International Airport at 8:10 p.m.

The new service will be in direct competition against JetBlue, which already operates flights between the two cities.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority reports that more than 5 million passengers pass through JIA each year.
