ST. JOHNS COUNTY,Fla. -- Resident Tia Charles said deputies lined Honeysuckle Way Thursday.

"There was somebody doing leprechaun-ish, if you will, destruction to homes," she said. "Opening up cars that were not locked. Taking items out of cars and putting them in other yards."

Deputies said the burglar is Adam Bridges, 18.  They said he came to the Julington Creek area looking to buy some marijuana.  When the person he was looking for wasn't home, he decided to break in to cars and garages and cause some trouble.

Charles said, "Items being strewn about. Belongings from the previous street to our street.  Things from our street on a previous street."

Deputies said they found Adams passed out in his vehicle.  Reports say he admitted to the burglaries and told them he was feeling "mischievous."

Charles said, "It makes me feel really good that our local police reacts very quickly and were able to apprehend the person."

Bridges is now in jail facing several charges, including burglary and drug possession.

Deputies said everything that was stolen was returned to the homeowners.
