VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) — A 69-year-old Deltona man died after he was shot in his backyard, possibly by a stray bullet, on Christmas Day, according to Volusia County deputies.

The man was shot in the chest around 10 a.m. while in the backyard of his home on Cadehill Drive in Deltona, deputies said.

The victim was rushed to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies are investigating whether the man was hit by a stray bullet that came from a neighbor's shooting range. Residents in the area told deputies a neighbor built his own shooting range with a raised berm.

The victim's identity hasn't been released.

"Deputies: Man dead after being shot by possible stray bullet" I doubt that he was shot BY a bullet or a gun. He was killed when he was SHOT with a bullet FROM a gun BY an unknown person. The bullet and gun did nothing. They are inanimate tools.
