ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Deputies said one of the men who beat an elderly man during a home invasion was taken into custody Thursday.

Michael Crum was arrested in Keystone Heights by Clay County deputies.

Putnam deputies say Crum and his cousin broke into a home in Interlachen. The 78-year-old homeowner was beaten with a pipe, according to investigators. The thieves then drove off in the man's car and only got away with $20.

Deputies said Crum's cousin and alleged accomplice, Adam Hale, is on the run. Investigators say you can help put him behind bars by calling Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS.

Got some good news after crum was caught in Orange Park he was transported back to Putnam county jail where he was beaten and then transported to hospital. He is now back at the jail in a segregated area. We still need to get his cousin so lets keep getting the word out.

IMO, everyone is responsible for their own actions, if they want to be or not. You shouldn't blame the whole family for one bad apple, but we're seeing videos of busts showing whole families cuffed when the warrant is for one person while police guns are pointed at traumatized children. However, we would have less crime if we had continued in an eye for an eye. Our sympathetic cushy system is actually attracting crime from every angle.

Now heres we go folks, they caught this scumbag and as with any crime if he is under 18 or lives at home with his parents and is under 21 they should be charged too... People HAVE to know what the heck is going on under thier own roofs and if not they HAVE to get involved and find out. You cannot let your kids run wild because you dont want to deal with it but they are a check so F-it, as long as they dont steal from or hurt me and as long as I dont know what they are doing I am good. NO NO NO, no more man! How much of this nonsense crime could be stopped if parents stepped in by either A. Kicking thier kids arses straight into a non violent life with some direction OR 2. Getting the authorities involved PRIOR to someone getting hurt\killed? You have to know and you are doing your duty to society AND to the kid... who knows maybe you can keep them from a 25-life sentence and even get them some help in the meantime... Just sayin.
