MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a woman is dead, after being hit by a car driven by her husband.

It happened following an argument at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at their home on Alec Drive in the Mayfield subdivision.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says the couple was fighting when Brooks Collier attempted to leave the home in his car.

At that time, deputies say 58-year-old Nola Collier tried to stop her husband and was run over.

Collier was taken to Orange Park Medical Center where she later died.

Brooks Collier was arrested later on the evening for leaving the scene of an accident.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 11.
