JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Deputies in Camden County are looking for a man accused of violating probation after police say he tried to sell property in Costa Rica. Deputies say 51-year-old James Lawrence McCue didn't report to his probation officer and failed to make a financial restitution as instructed by the court. They say he was last seen in 2011.
McCue was originally charged with racketeering, theft by conversion, forgery in the 1st-degree, and firearm possession by a convicted felon after they say he tried to sell a property in Costa Rica that he knew was not his property to sell to more than one person. According to deputies, one victim was billed $10,000 and another was billed $82,000. Deputies say he then used the stolen money to purchase property in Camden County.
McCue's last known address is 1310 Horseshoe Cove Road in Waverly, Ga. Police say he has brown eyes, weighs 200 pounds, and is 5 feet 10 inches tall.
