ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office had to deploy stop sticks and use a precision immobilization technique, or PIT maneuver before arrested three suspects in a robbery.

The incident happened at the Kangaroo Express on Wildwood Drive and U.S. 1 at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Two of the robbers walked into the store with a handgun and ran off with cash and cigarettes.

St. Johns County sheriff’s deputies first caught up with the suspects near a mobile home park on Wildwood Drive. A deputy deployed stop sticks after an attempt at a traffic stop failed, the sheriff's office said, and the suspects still managed to get away.

Deputies used the PIT maneuver to run the suspects off the road near Treaty Park. Two of the suspects were caught quickly. One suspect, Tyrus Kornegy, was flown to UF Health in Jacksonville after suffering a gunshot wound. Deputies believe one of the other suspects accidentally shot him during the chase.

Another suspect, Deshawn Perkins, was taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pains. The third, Marcus Trumbly, was captured early Monday morning in the 1900 block of Wildwood Drive.

The men face charges of robbery and resisting an officer.

Since 90 percent of violent crimes are commited by blacks, chances are very good that they were all black. Then the odd names kind of give that one away. Sad all three weren't shot, just hope the one that was dies.
