JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The closure of the Mathews Bridge isn't bad news for everyone. Some local businesses are actually benefiting from the the debacle.

Detours are driving many people directly to the Woody's BBQ on University Boulevard.

"We've seen a lot of old-time customers a little more frequently than we have in the past," said Mark Given from the restaurant's corporate office.

He said drivers not willing to wait in traffic are coming in for dinner. And as a result, the kitchen has been busy.

Given said, "I probably wouldn't quantify it. I would just smile and say we're benefiting."

And because the bridge is closed indefinitely, Given said Woody's is happy to help road-weary customers.
