MAYPORT, Fla -- The USO, Chevrolet and Winn-Dixie have joined together for the third year to help military moms in the Jacksonville area.

The event called the Diaper Dash is an opportunity for 60 local expecting military mothers to receive items that will help in caring for their newborns. Participants have been randomly selected from a pool of interested registrants.

The lucky winners will meet at the USO and caravan in brand-new Chevrolet vehicles to several Winn-Dixie store locations to stock up on essential items such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, shampoo, and lotion.

Once the expecting mommies finish "dashing" throughout town collecting their gifts, they will return to USO for snacks, refreshments, giveaways and child car safety demonstrations.

Expecting mom, Anna Pageau is excited to have been chosen this year and expresses her gratitude, "It's nice to have more support out there for all the military moms luckily my husband's home but there's a lot of moms out their whose husbands aren't home."

Today's event took place in Mayport with tomorrow's being held at NAS JAX from 9 am to 2 pm.
