GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- The jury spent hours deciding the fate of Dr. Chua Saturday. It returned a guilty verdict around 9:30pm. Chua was then sentenced to life.
Doctor Noel Chua was found guilty of murdering 20-year-old Jamie Carter, a former patient and employee. Prosecutors say that Chua was aware of the man's drug addiction, and still wrote prescriptions for Carter that lead to his overdose.
Chua decided not to testify Friday in his defense as the case wrapped up with all the evidence.
