JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Dozens of people are descending on Downtown Jacksonville Friday for the Picnic in the Plaza.
The event is organized by the not-for-profit group Downtown Vision, Inc. The group is calling for lunch-goers to grab a picnic basket, camp chairs and blankets, and enjoy an afternoon Hemming Plaza Friday until 1:30 p.m. It's all part of a movement to revitalize the city's urban core.
For those not wanting to bring lunch, the Zodiac Bar & Grill is offering a lunch buffet to go. Along with lunch, participants can enjoy music and games such as cornhole as they enjoy Friday in the November sunshine.
Downtown Vision, Inc. (DVI) is the Downtown Improvement District (DID) for Downtown Jacksonville. DVI is a not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization whose mission is to build and maintain a healthy and vibrant Downtown community and to promote Downtown as an exciting place to live, work, play and visit.
