JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Long security lines at JIA Friday morning caused delays for travelers. Action News has learned dozens of them missed their flights.

Debbie Jones from JIA tells Action News there were no security isses. She does report an equipment problem that caused the delay.

Almost every airline had to hold flights because of the delay. Representatives tell Action News, the problem was that only two checkpoints were open.

Delta reports, it held flights for 30 minutes but 50 people still missed their flights. A handful of passengers from other airlines also missed flights, including: U.S. Airways and United.

Airline representatives said the problem was resolved when a third checkpoint was opened.

An Action News crew at the scene reports - lines appear to be back to normal.

Sequestration my left eye! This is exactly the result of government intervention. Wait 'til Obummercare kicks in full swing. Oy!

We were there in that line this morning for almost an hour and just made our flight because AirTran held the doors open. The "problem with the equipment" was that no one was there to operate it! Only 2 lines plus the aircrew line. Totally unacceptable!
