ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- A 75-year-old man is receiving treatment at the Orange Park Medical Center, after police say he fled their attempts to pull him over Monday afternoon.

Two 911 calls tell the story of the man, who was first seen driving erratically at high speeds in Fleming Island. Not far from there is where he first rear-ended a woman traveling with a baby.

"The guy just slammed into the back of me and took off. The cops took off after him, so I don't know if they got him or not," she told the dispatcher. "I'm OK. I don't know about the baby, but I'm OK. He's not screaming or anything."

The woman said the man "whipped" around her and drove west toward Middleburg. Then, another driver called 911, to report a second hit-and-run.

"The guy actually ran. He hit me and then took off. I was turning left off 220 and I saw him behind me and I was getting ready to go, but the guy just took off and he hit my back bumper."

Clay County deputies then followed the man up Blanding Boulevard into Orange Park. Stop sticks were used to flatten his tires, forcing him to stop near College Drive and Peoria Avenue.

While the man faces serious charges, he has not yet been arrested for driving erratically and eluding police because he suffers from an unnamed medical condition. He, nor the other drivers, reported any injuries. His name has not been released.

Yank his license and keys, he has no business behind the wheel if he has that bad of medical issues. He's going to kill some one the next time. Where's his family? They need to step in before they visit him in prison or under a headstone.
