JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for driving drunk.

Charles Harris, a habitual offender, pleaded guilty last month to charges of Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and DUI.

Harris was arrested in March 2012 after he chased a man on his way to work, by ramming his car several times. After the victim called 911, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spotted Harris' car driving the wrong way on Stockton Street.

Harris ran through several red lights and stop signs while officers were trying to pull him over. After being stopped, Harris rammed his car into a patrol vehicle. Harris admitted he was drunk, and said that is why he ran from police.
