JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Everything good the Duval County School System has to offer parents and students will be on display this weekend.

Principals, teachers and students from each middle and high school will be at the Prime Osborn Convention Center Saturday for the annual Magnet Mania/School Choice Expo.

According to the school district, more than 7,000 parents and students traditionally come to the expo to learn about the programs available in each middle and high school to develop students' special interests or talents.

Magnet programs, career academies, charter schools, neighborhood schools and high school acceleration programs are all scheduled to be showcased.

The expo, for the 2013-12014 school year, is an off-shoot of the district's new School Choice initiative.

Parking and admission are free.

The expo runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, January 12.
