Former teacher of the year due in court for sex charges
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Former Teacher of the Year and Windy Hill Elementary instructor Christopher Bacca was in court this morning for a status hearing.
He was originally arrested back on July 17th after being accused of molesting students.
Documents obtained by Action News show Bacca told one child's mother he was taking children to the Keys on a trip. He also told the mother her child had work due for school over the summer, but police say Bacca kept the kids at his apartment.
His phone and computer were confiscated to search for pornography or sexual correspondence with children.
He was released from his teaching position with Duval County Schools after the accusations came to light.
Bacca was also a youth ministry co-chair at Riverside Presbyterian Church.
