Early Voting hits record numbers in final day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Duval County Supervisor of Elections has counted a record-breaking number of voters on the last day of early voting.

Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland says 28,893 voters cast ballots on Saturday. His office tells Action News 66,477 Vote by Mail Ballots were verified by signatures and have been validated to be opened and processed by the Canvassing Board. The Vote by Mail ballots combined with the 173,669 ballots cast through the eight days of Early Voting brings the total number of ballots cast to 240,146.

In total, 43% of the 557,809 registered voters.
