JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Edward Waters College is celebrating Black History Month with several programs.
BEEP, or Black Executive Exchange Program, pairs professionals in the community to act as mentors. New Town Success Zone sends students into the community to encourage elementary and middle schoolers to pursue an education and continue after high school.
Edward Waters College graduate and president Nat Glover said he believes setting an example is key.
"I think when you are looking at an alumnus of the institution who is the president," he said, referring to himself, "the students will have to see that, look, if I do what I'm supposed to do and stay committed and stay dedicated, no question, maybe I can be president."
