City Concil Members are elected by the citizens of Jacksonville. They are there to represent us taxpayers. If only one wants to properly vet an appointee then, he MUST be heard, if he wishes to ask the appointee a question or more 'face-to-face' he is doing his job. The citizens of Jacksonville already have doubts about the effectiveness city council members and our mayor due to the disregard they have show the city taxpayers by not performing required maintenance to our blocked and shallow easements, dead and dying trees on city property, and replacing broken and unsightly "Recycle Bins". The mayor needs to save any monies he has and refocus on providing services to the residents of this city. There is way too much talk about bringing businesses and events to the city but, it's all at the cost of cutting maintenance projects. There are many easements with dead trees. Even one dead tree in an easement fell on a house and no one from the city has inspected or removed dying trees in this easement for at least 30 years. I think it is about time the mayor started looking at his decaying city, before wasting our money on research for more business. That's my two cents.
