JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Once the gates opened at 6 p.m., the fans started filing in. But a few hours prior to that, a time when EverBank Field parking lot is traditionally filled with tailgaters, the only cars around were a few near the shade of the trees and across the street under the shade of the Hart Bridge overpass.

It goes without saying ...

"It's pretty hot out here." Cole Chafin and his crew got to EverBank at 3 o'clock.

"We pulled up and the guy in the parking lot, he's like, 'you guys know it doesn't start until 7:30, right?'" Chafin said. "And we're like, 'yeah.' But I guess he didn't really know who we were."

They are the Teal Street Houligans and no amount of heat was keeping them from tailgating.

"It's hot but we love our Jaguars," Ashley Sadler of the Teal Street Houligans said. "Anything for them."

And no amount of heat will keep them from rooting on their team.

"Everybody said this morning it felt like it was game day and it's only scrimmage, so we're pretty exicted for the season," Cole said.

"We are going to get after it," Ashley said. "We will have lots of fun. We are the biggest Jaguar fans that you've ever seen so we're just ready."

At EverBank Field, the early bird not only gets the worm ... it gets the shade of the trees and the overpass.
