BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Family members are talking with Action News exclusively and sharing new photos of the happier times the Georgia family had before their tragic murder Saturday.

Tyler Heinze is just 16 years old, but already he's had to deal with a lot. He lost his mom when he was 11 and last weekend
his dad in a gruesome murder. "From what I've seen and heard how brutal it was, one person couldn't do that by themself," said Tyler Heinze.

The killings took 8 of his friends and family. They all lived inside this mobile home at the New Hope Plantation.
He says none of them would give up without a fight. "If you knew my dad, uncle, and cousin, they were serious peiople. They wouldn't let anyone do that without a fight," said Heinze.

Now he only has his brother, Guy Heinze Jr. "Me and my brother are like the closest people in the family," said Heinze.

Tyler is sticking close to family. Alva Cross is the sister of Rusty Sr. and Brenda. They both were also murdered. She's taken Tyler under her wing to help him deal with this tragedy, one she's still trying to get through herself. "I love them with all my heart and I'm going to miss them 'til the day I die," said Cross.

Alva says the family is trying to stay strong and support each other, but it's not easy. She can't sleep and often looks at pictures from the good times, cherishing the memories, especially of her brother Rusty Sr. "He was always the one to step up. Yeah 10 people were living in the trailer, but if they didn't have money to pay rent. He wasn't going to put them on the street," said Cross.

She wants the funeral tomorrow to be about the family they've lost. She says it'll be the hardest thing she's ever had to do, but she'll do it for her family and hopes they someday get justice. "That is the best thing that could come out of this. I mean I want those people, if they did that to my family, anybody's in danger. That's not a sane person," said Cross.

Tyler wants the same thing for his father, uncle and cousins. He wants people to know it's not about what happened, but who it happened to. "I don't want anyone to come up and try to get a piece of this cause it's a big story. I mean my family got murdered people need to understand that. It's not a big circus, feel sorry for me, my family was killed and I want to know who did it," said Heinze.

Three year old Byron is still in the hospital. Family members tell Action News he's improving, but is still on a respirator.

For all of you who already have Guy Heinze tried and convicted; please let me remind you that in The United States of America a man is innocent until proved guilty. While the media seems to have jumped to the same quick conclusion as the District Attorney I believe that Guy Heinze is innocent. There are far too many questions that have not been answered not the least of which is the murders he is charged with would be physically impossible for one person. Guy did not have a mark on him. There were many people in that trailer of an age and size that they could defend themselves against one person or at least get out of there. There are windows as well as the door to the trailer. And whoever committed this awful crime ( at least 2 maybe more) could not be the son, uncle, brother that Guy is. He states himself as does his brother Tyler that "he is no Saint" (who among us are) that does not make him the mass murderer of his own family. I want the facts and proof of this monstrous act to come out and I believe that Guy Heinze will be found innocent. All the while this rush to judgment is going on mass murderer(s) are loose. Look for the real killers. Greg Howard
