JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Shad Khan officially welcomed members of Fulham FC into Jacksonville on Friday and answered questions about the future of his two franchises.

It's not the football gear members of Fulham FC are used to. The club captain, CEO and manager posed for pictures with Jaguars jerseys and NFL footballs.

Fulham FC manager Martin Jol praised Khan for his passion for the club.

Khan is diversifying his pro sport portfolio. He bought the team last week.

Khan thanked Fulham fans for embracing him and the Jacksonville community.

Khan says his new franchise will play preseason matches at EverBank Field next year, which will help boost the River City's recognition around the world.

"If you look at the eyeballs, the typical Fulham game has, you know, 3 or 4 million people," said Khan. "I think it really gives us a huge amount of upside to play especially starting with the friendlys and some of the preseason games."

Khan is traveling to Costa Rica this weekend to watch Fulham in a preseason match.

Khan says the Fulham staff is passionate about their jobs and loves the team.

city is at it again wasting tax payer's money. just like the courthouse. the blown money on it could of put a lot of people to work and hired more police to fight crime. the lavish building has way to many fancy stuff. it show's how nuch the city care's about the hard working tax payer.

You are correct, I did not have to pay. But I did for the new Marlins stadium, so what. The point is at least the area will see additional revenue from tourism when Fulham are in town.

If Shad Khan (or Shere Khan as we call him at home, can afford to pay what was it? 20 million for a soccer team, I would suggest to him to pay for the entire cost of the mega screen he wants to build at the stadium. Jacksonville has enough dept issues to take care of instead of adding to it. Although I am starting to suspect that our Mayor is more concerned about keeping Shere, sorry, Shad, Khan happy then the voters.

I know the city is all excited about Fulham playing some games here but I have a question! The city owns the stadium and rents it to the jags. Will Fulham then have to pay the city to use the stadium???? My guess is another give away!!!
