JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- FDOT is continuing to look for ways to improve traffic on local highways.
Their latest idea, will be adding two new express lanes on the I -295 East Beltway, between 9-b and Butler Boulevard.
But it all comes at a cost.
The toll fee would start at fifty cents and go up depending on the amount of traffic.
Tolls will be collected by SunPass.
The estimated cost of the four mile project is around $155 million dollars.
Construction is set to begin in 2015.
The first phase will be added between the Buckman Bridge and I-95.
