JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Martavious Richardson, 14, still had the hospital bracelets on his wrist Tuesday. He was on crutches. He received a good knock on the head.
And he says it all happened in a crash Monday night on Beach Boulevard.
The 14-year-old said he was a passenger in a white Monte Carlo being driving by a friend he knows as Cam. He said the driver of a white truck tried to run them off the road.
"He tried to like come over towards us, so we had ran off the road, ran into the sidewalk," said the teenager.
He said the drivers of the two vehicles started to argue.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Monte Carlo took it a step further and pulled out a gun.
Action News asked Richardson, "Did you see anything like that?"
He said, "I don't know about all that."
JSO said the driver of Monte Carlo then lost control of the vehicle, crossed into oncoming- traffic and slammed into two other cars, injuring one more person.
Investigators said three people inside the Monte Carlo made a run for it after the crash. They haven't been found.
Richardson said he doesn't know why anyone ran. To him, the crash is just a blur.
"I was knocked out," he said.
FHP said a 12-year-old boy was also in the Monte Carlo. His injuries were categorized as minor.
JSO is investigating the incident as road rage. The driver of the Monte Carlo could face aggravated battery charges.
